My first national TV! Lorraine Kelly is lovely, and her show, LK Today gets about five million viewers, so I’m told. [Video clip to come.]
One odd thing. I was told by the researcher the day before that on no account was I to mention my book. Eh? This was apparently due to something about advertisers getting cross that people were appearing on the show and getting to plug their product for free, and only the presenter could mention it.
‘So actors can’t mention films, and musicians can’t mention their records?’ I asked the producer just before the show. I didn’t really understand her slightly strained response. I was assured that LK would mention it, and she did, briefly at the end.
But what’s that about? I’m going to look into this. And I feel a fool because I was so nervous that I actually remembered not to mention it!
