This is the humorous bit, where I offer you an Anecdote From School, a Brush with a Very Famous Person, the Worst Job I Have Ever Done, and/or my Proudest Moment. Actually, the picture on the homepage covers three of those at least.
I’m a writer. In my case, this means copywriter, which is what I’m doing most of at the moment, author, and journalist. My most recent book Cleaning Up came out in paperback in January 2009. It’s about how I took on British booze culture and survived to tell the tale.
I write for money, but I do other things as well.
I like being on the radio. I produced and presented my own show. I’ve done lots of interviews about my work. On television, my biggest claim to fame is doing Lorraine Kelly on GMTV. I’m best behind the camera, which may be why I do photography.
I also give talks about addiction, (Westminster Skeptics being the most recent). My favourite part is the intimacy of a good Q&A. I’ve also given many readings of my work, and in the nineties I used to do ranty things on pub stages.
