OK, OK, so my ‘stats’ were a bit over the top for a serious news programme, but I think a significant number of the voting – and even more of the opinion-forming – population has some sort of hangover on a given day.

Anyway, I blame the neighbours. There was some sort of chimps tea party going on all night – reminded me of the old days – with a mere three people making a really honourable amount of noise until at least seven o’clock in the morning, when the woman living below them finally let rip.

Again I hit my limit, chatting for too long in an Ethiopian restaurant on Saturday evening. Suddenly, sadly, I just had to run for it. Actually, since, there was music playing as well, it’s amazing I managed to sit there for any length of time at all. I was on the phone for two hours this morning, and got a steaming headache. Roll on brain health, whenever that is.

And didn’t manage to mention the book, let alone the reading I was going to do last night! Wake up woman!

I love Vanessa’s show, and listen whenever I can, but this time it was all a bit grim, and the tone unbearably sentimental. They were talking about ‘Saving Amy’, and rescuing La Winehouse from the terrible evils of crack. Oh dear. That Sun video portrayed someone stumbling around getting wasted at home of an evening, not a girl in despair. I well know that if anyone had been so patronising as to suggest ‘saving’ me back in the day, I would have given them the finger in no uncertain terms.
